Catch More Bass With Inline Spinners

Looking to catch more bass? Look no further than the inline spinner!

Today, the market is continually flooded with more and more complicated lures, trying to catch the fisherman. But sometimes it is worthwhile to simply go back to the basics, and catch more fish.

Inline Spinner for Bass

If you’ve never tried an inline spinner for bass, you have been missing out! It is possible for bass to get tired of seeing the same spinnerbaits, tubes and jigs. They can only fall for the same trick so many times. The inline spinner is the more finesse presentation compared to the spinnerbait, and can closely resemble a baitfish in size and shape.

This versatile lure can be used any time of the day, and is easily kept in the strike zone if retrieved just right. The combination of flash and vibration can trigger even the most lethargic of bass, and is also effective during cold fronts.

  • Tip for Beginners: It is hard to retrieve this lure wrong. As long as the blade is spinning, it will attract attention. However, if you are not producing bites, try slowing down your retrieve - just make sure that the blade is still spinning.

Open Water Fishing

This finesse lure can be cast into both shallow and deep water, in lakes or rivers. As bass tend to congregate around structure, it is helpful to have a lure that can reach specific target areas. Most inline spinners have a treble hook, which can become snagged in vegetation or wedged between rocks.

  • Tip: If you are targeting an area with vegetation, you can proactively avoid snags by switching the treble out for a single hook, or opting for a faster action spinner. For example, a spinner with a wide blade like a Colorado blade will have a slower retrieve and therefore have a higher chance of becoming snagged. However, a spinner with a thin blade like a willow blade will have a quicker retrieve and therefore have a lower chance of becoming snagged.

All Season Long

Inline spinners can be used to target bass all season long. Since they are not the traditional lure of choice for bass fisherman, it opens a great opportunity to sweep in and offer something new!

  • Tip: Use smaller spinners in the spring to mimic minnows and other baitfish. Size up as the season progresses.
