Gagetown Fish Farm - Will It Catch?

The Gagetown Fish Farm is a stocked pond for Rainbow Trout and Speckled Trout. It is located in Gagetown, NB and is a great place to take the family! It is a Catch and No Release facility, so if you catch it, you take it home.

I took a trip there with my dad in April and had a great time fishing for Rainbow Trout. This was a first time catching Rainbows for both of us so we didn’t know what to expect.

At first, our intentions were to find out which of our Dead End Lures the Rainbows would like. However as the morning went on, the game was to see which lures they wouldn’t bite! We called it “Will It Catch?”.

I started small with the GeoDart and caught a small Rainbow on the second cast. When I sized up the GeoStorm, I had one of the first cast! This continued with the GeoGhost, Spectre, GeoStormX, GeoWraith, GeoForce, Hellgrammite and even the GeoTrax (a musky lure)! Size didn’t seem to be a deterrent and neither did colour!

Long story short, there wasn’t a Dead End Lure that they wouldn’t bite, which is a pretty good problem to have!

It was a great trip overall, and the people running the Fish Farm were very friendly. We saw many families with young children fishing there, making unforgettable memories. We will definitely be back again so that we can continue our game of “Will it Catch?”.
